BAD HOTELS IN LONG BEACH
The Renaissance, Westin, and Hilton Long Beach all are in the midst of labor disputes and/or boycotts.
On February 9th, 2015, Renaissance workers approached management with a simple proposal: they want to organize in an atmosphere of respect. Employees asked management to remain neutral while they decide for themselves whether to unionize, but came away empty-handed.
On February 24th, Local 11 filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board alleging that Renaissance management engaged in conduct that interferes with workers’ rights under federal labor law. These charges are under review.
Hilton Long Beach has been under BOYCOTT since 2008. Workers want management to remain neutral while they decide on unionization through a fair process.
